The latest in crazy celebrity diets is the baby food diet, where celebs eat things like pureed peas and carrots instead of real meals.
Some of the latest to sample the baby food diet include Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga and The Hills star Stephanie Pratt.
Tracy Anderson, celebrity trainer to the stars, whose clients happen to include Aniston, Paltrow, Gaga and Madonna, debuted her “TA baby food cleanse” just last November.
But in Lady Gaga’s new tell all book, some ask if her diet was killing her. She was hospitalized no less than 6 times in 2009, and the troubles continue into 2010. Gaga has been forced to cancel four US shows in January because she was suffering from an irregular heartbeat, brought on by exhaustion. Is she hiding an eating disorder?
The most common eating disorders are anorexia (relentless pursuit of thinness), bulimia (eating huge amounts of food then purging it) and binge eating (eating huge amounts of food without purging). Note that yo-yo dieting and these disorders can be deadly.
Wendy Starland, who helped discover the unknown New York City musician Stefani Germanotta before she became Lady Gaga, is also quoted in the new tell-all, and says of the singer’s rising-star days, “The pressure on her to lose weight was very high.”
This of course is in reference to Lady Gaga maintain her good looks and figure for on stage.
